The Aero DMSMS Team (ADT) is an established focal point for integrating obsolescence solutions across the various lines of businesses (LOB) at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. The team is part of the Specialty Engineering directorate, with functional representation at all three Aeronautics locations in Georgia, Texas, and California. Included in this portfolio is support of an ADP Program based in Palmdale, CA. This DMSMS position is critical to the success of this ADP Program with a proven record of mitigating industry obsolescence threats on behalf of our customer. The candidate will perform duties which incorporate the analysis of technical and obsolescence data such as BOM (Bill of Material) and other industry reports, as well as inventory management and coordination to identify potential impacts to a program. The candidate will also manage, review and disposition DMSMS Supplier Data Requirement Lists (SDRLs), and develop, coordinate, and support the presentation of DMSMS Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) to the program Customer. In addition, this role will also act as a project manager for DMSMS Redesign projects. This will require the candidate to build and maintain routine relationships with Engineering & Technology leadership, system/subsystem engineering teams, Components Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Management, Program Management, and all associate parties involved in DMSMS for this ADP Program. Lastly, the candidate will have the opportunity to grow into a technical leader in the DMSMS Systems Engineering capacity, interfacing with counterparts in Georgia and Texas, as we work to establish improved processes and tools to integrate Digital Transformation initiatives across Aeronautics.

In addition, the candidate will be a stakeholder in the maintenance and development process of various tools which are used by the team for tracking, coordinating, and executing DMSMS mitigation cases. Applying knowledge and experience in working with relational databases and using VBA and SQL, the candidate will help adapt critical toolsets to the ongoing demands of the programs and help to incorporate these utilities as Aeronautics standards.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Desired Skills:
  • Engineering Experience in the Aerospace/Defense Industry
  • Experience with Diminishing Manufacturing Sources & Material Shortages (DMSMS) processes involving engineering integration of obsolescence management mitigations and/or redesign projects.
  • Working experience with IHS or Silicon. Expert software tools for Bill of Material (BOM) monitoring.
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering or Components Engineering with emphasis upon Mission Systems Integration.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering disciplines with understanding of the total lifecycle (architecture, requirements, design, analysis, integration, verification, production, and sustainment) including the following key competencies: Supplier Interface, Proposal Analysis, Risk and Opportunity Assessment.
  • Experience in working with Suppliers and/or Supply Chain engagement including usage of SAP for parts management analysis and financial tracking.
  • Knowledge of overall military aircraft systems and processes including and sustainment operations.
  • Understanding and strong appreciation for practicing and developing Standard Work processes and tools.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools emphasizing Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with written, verbal, and presentation communications skills, including briefing to members of upper management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of PLM software such 3DX and Sabre.
