Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Material Processes Technician 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

Job Responsibilities:

Conducts experiments and tests involving wafer, electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, optical, hydraulic, metallurgical, vacuum, or chemicals within fabrication or processing laboratories to support engineering and reliability analyses. Evaluates new processes, components, products, and systems in conformance with engineering specifications. Isolates problems for further analyses. Collects and documents results, and generates reports. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. May design experiments. May be required to ensure correct functioning and identify any discrepancies. May advise operators and inform engineers regarding processes, procedures, and equipment.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) plus 0 years of experience

• Ability to follow test plans

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Outlook) skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a wet Chemistry lab environment

• Experience with ASTM 1235, and ASTM G120

• Experience with Optical Inspection equipment (such as microscopes), and Chemistry lab equipment/processes (such as sonication, and extraction)

• Good verbal & written communication skills

Salary Range: $39,900 USD - $66,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
