Sr Network Engineer-Wireless
Job Description
This a Senior technical role as part of team of Network Engineers supporting Network Product Line's Wireless product. This position requires strong communication and technical skills. You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure and management application components for the global enterprise environment. Perform a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, and installation tasks to ensure the Wireless product meets customer experience expectations, established service levels, and design and security best practices. Provide direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interface with the Global Network Services Team in the US and Manila.
- Configuring and Managing Cisco and Juniper Wireless Products
- Thorough understanding of network services, (e.g., high-availability, DNS/DHCP, IPAM, NTP, SNMP), Network Security, IP Routing, IPSEC/SSL VPN, NAT, LAN/WAN technologies
- Configure and maintain different Cisco devices, Juniper wireless devices, load balancers, firewalls, and proxy servers
- Design, configure, and maintain complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and software to resolve operational issues and restore services. Interpret diagnostic output and leverage packet captures for analysis.
- Maintain network security through proper configuration of Wireless, Firewalls, Routing, and Switching.
- Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors and etc. to provide technical assistance and support
Requirements:
- Experience providing subject matter expert (SME) role with Cisco routing and switching
- Excellent communication skills, both written (documentation / diagrams) and verbally
- Technical, analytical and interpersonal skills required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a dynamic business environment
- Minimum 7 years' experience with installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining Cisco environments, and interoperability with other vendor platforms
- Experience mentoring and sharing knowledge with other team members
- Must be available for 24/7 on-call rotation
Desired skills and certifications:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent professional experience
- Certifications - Cisco CCNP, Cisco CCIE or relevant vendor certifications.
- Familiar with Juniper Mist, VMWare, Windows, and Linux
- Knowledge of PCI-DSS, SOX, GDPR is a plus
