OPS - Snail and Nematode Bioassay Technician
Job Description
The technician will assist with research on the biological control of invasive snails. Typical duties include: 1) Mass rearing and maintaining invertebrate colonies, 2) collection of project data and maintenance of clear laboratory notes, 3) perform routine and recurring work to maintain productivity of the research including sanitizing dishes and plant material, maintaining organization of laboratory area, routine plant upkeep, other tasks as assigned, 4) invertebrate bioassays and experiments, 5) camera trap data notation, 6) data entry.
$20.00/hour
Bachelor's degree in entomology, biology or similar
- Comfortable in lab and greenhouse settings
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; detail-oriented
- Work well independently or in group setting
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software
- Experience rearing insects, snails, nematodes, or other invertebrates
- Successful completion of background check
- Applicants must have a valid U.S. driver’s license or obtain a license within 60 days of starting employment
- Bachelor’s degree in Entomology, Biology, or similar

Work Schedule, full time (40 hours/week) typically between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
