Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer – Guidance, Navigation, and Control. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Northridge, CA, supporting our Armament Systems Business Unit.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Use basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion, classical/modern control, and estimation theory to support routine aerospace engineering tasks
  • Work under specific detail direction from project lead and senior engineer
  • Apply defined engineering principles, industry standard, company processes and procedures to support one or a few program objectives and customer requirements

Basic Qualifications:

A candidate must meet ALL the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution by June 2023
  • Be majoring in or having majored in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related discipline
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile).
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
  • Experience or coursework in Dynamics, Control, and Estimation
  • Running Monte Carlo non-linear vehicle dynamics simulation
  • Analyzing CFD and Wind Tunnel test data
  • Familiar with MATLAB, Simulink, and C++

Salary Range:

$70,200 - $105,400
