Job Summary


As a Software Developer, you will design and create criminal justice information and integration applications for the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension in the Minnesota Justice Information Services department. These applications that are critical to create, maintain, and support technical solutions that benefit the safety of all Minnesotans. This position will also provide systems analysis and input into database design including the construction of logical and physical data models and technical expertise in the development of client server application systems including web based applications, web services, and message brokers. This position also provides ongoing support for applications by defining, documenting, and implementing solutions for new requirements.

At this time, this position is a hybrid working a minimum of two days in the office and part time teleworking due to the needs of the business unit. Telework is a work arrangement that allows an employee to perform work on a scheduled regular, recurring basis at a remote telework location. Teleworkers will be required to come to the work location two days a week.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT experience in web services, development, design and implementation.

Experience must include the following:

  • C# development experience within the object-oriented framework .Net 4.6 and above
  • Microsoft SQL Server with writing T-SQL
  • Experience working with HTML/CSS
  • Experience working with ASP.NET MVC

*A Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field substitutes for three years of experience, or a related Bachelor’s degree substitutes for two years, or a related Associate’s substitutes for one year.*

  • Experience with XML Schemas
  • Unit test experience (NUnit)
  • Experience with SOAP/REST Web Services
  • Experience authoring XSL transformations
  • Experience using Entity Framework
  • Experience using Bootstrap 4/5
  • Experience with IBM WebSphere Message Queue
  • Experience as a member of an Agile Scrum development team
  • Strong communication skills sufficient to clearly communicate highly technical concepts, and to introduce new technological tools or methods
  • Ability to establish strong business partnerships with senior MNJIS team members and with criminal justice and technical staff
