Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
Opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and develop custom electromagnetic designs for miniature motor systems. This engineer would be part of our Surgical Motor Solutions (SMS) group which focuses primarily on the design of Brushless DC motors for medical device OEMs. These motors are the heart of the surgical devices they power and directly impact the lives of the surgeons who use them and the patients they treat.
The Motor Design Engineer is a key member of the R&D team and will have broad technical and leadership responsibilities. They will also offer engineering support for our customers and the manufacturing team. Our engineers have the freedom to offer innovative solutions to enable technology breakthroughs that extend our ability to serve our customer’s unmet needs.
What You'll Do
- Design and development of new and advanced miniature motor drive systems from concept to production in a cross functional engineering environment
- Work with customers to create technical proposals for new product applications
- Support manufacturing staff with troubleshooting and provide feedback on quality related topics
- Work closely with Customers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or the Commercial Team to gather design inputs from various sources and translate input into engineering requirements
- Develop and integrate innovative technologies that extend the performance and capabilities of our product portfolio
- Support internal and external customer product engineering requests

Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required
- Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical test equipment is required
- Experience troubleshooting electronics or electrical assemblies is required
- Experience in design and manufacturing environment is preferred
- Experience in electric machine design is preferred
- Experience incorporating customer requirements into technical proposals/designs is preferred
