IT SPECIALIST I:

The IT Specialist is responsible for providing direct service support to the users for a wide variety of computing devices/peripherals as well as all IT related functions across the assigned locations consisting of multiple facilities and Out-patient care centers, and external services within the (AUI)Advanced Urology Institute system. The IT Specialists works autonomously fulfilling end user requests and resolving issues according to services and procedural standards. Typical responsibilities involve moves, adds, and changes for computer devices, access requests/set up, application support and responding to break/fix service requests. The IT Specialist is required to participate in IT related projects as directed, and to assist with technology inventory management, system imaging/staging, and materials distribution.

DUTIES:

  • Under supervision maintain computer networks between locations and/or care centers
  • Contribute to determining hardware and software specifications.
  • Responsible for application testing and documentation of workflow
  • Providing user support and customer service to physicians and staff to resolve software and hardware issues.
  • Under supervision administers information security software and controls.
  • Communicates security information up and down to all levels of the organization
  • Providing user support and customer service to physicians and staff to resolve software and hardware issues.
  • Being present and visible in the Help Desk area and be available to users requiring technical assistance.
  • Responding to questions from callers and walk-ins; remotely assisting physicians and staff with technology problems in offices.
  • Exhibiting a friendly presence and helpful attitude.
  • Exhibiting knowledge of fundamental operations of commonly used software, hardware, and other equipment.
  • Following standard Help Desk operation procedures; accurately logging all Help Desk contacts using tracking software for job tickets.
  • Handling constantly changing flow of traffic; remaining productive during slow times and having the ability to multitask effectively during busy times.
  • Exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
  • Assisting IT Director with special projects.
  • Installing hardware and completing repairs.
  • Training staff and new hires on software applications. Participates in educational activities.
Requirements:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or Certificate in computer technology related field?is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years’ experience in lieu of degree or certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Information Technology.
  • IT Healthcare and/or EMR experience preferred
