Materials and Process Engineer I - Data / Knowledge Management in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
- Upcoming graduates will be considered. Degree must be conferred prior to beginning employment.
- Must have an interest in developing and sustaining Materials and Process Engineering project files, optimizing company and certification testing data for ease of use/recall that support the technical staff ability to retrieve data efficiently.
- Assist with the creation of a materials database to support failure analysis, material characterization, fire and flammability test results.
- Skills required to transform raw data entries into discrete data for the purposes of developing and maintaining a data visualization boards to management.
- The ideal candidate must be familiar with the Microsoft suite environment (Word, Excel, OneNote, etc.).
- Candidate is required to have entry level knowledge of coding using DAX, Java, Python, Matlab, Microsoft Excel Analysis Pack, and/or C++.
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule (M &T: Onsite, W&R: Remote after onboarding has been completed)
- BS in Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.

- Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes by completing discrete engineering tasks on schedule .
- Using company procedures, applies engineering knowledge to resolve routine issues .
- Analyzes and evaluates results of project activities .
- Prepares recommendations for changes and compiles necessary reports for various department supervision .
- Recognizes discrepancies and/or problems with analysis/test results and works toward corrective action .
- Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirements .
- Continues learning and developing knowledge of application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise .
- The level of technical skills and abilities appropriate for this grade level will be established by each discipline.
- Work is closely supervised/monitored, follows established procedures and methods.
- Failure to achieve results may cause delays in program schedules.
- Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats.
- Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, mentor, and other exempt professionals in the group or department.
