The Mission of Jefferson County Open Space is to preserve open space and parkland, protect park and natural resources, and provide healthy nature-based experiences.
Compensation: Please note hiring range for this role is: $18-21/hr.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Work involves constructing trails using heavy equipment, hand tools and power tools.
Employee is responsible for maintaining trails, installing erosion control devices and inspecting the trail system.
This position may involve snow removal.
Work also involves vegetation control, constructing stairs, tie walls and fencing

Minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
One year of work-related experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred qualifications:
One or more years of specifically trails maintenance/construction
Experience with Natural Resources and/or instruction.
Additional course work in Natural Resource Management, Outdoor Recreation, Park Maintenance or related field preferred.
ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, including skid steer, roller/compactor, water pump, chainsaw and a variety of hand tools and power tools. Requires ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must have a valid Colorado driver's license. If you possess an out of state license, you must obtain a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date.
Offer of employment contingent upon successful completion of criminal history, motor vehicle report, education verification, pre-employment physical and/or references.
