Job Description:
This position is for the FPGA Business Unit which designs and develops low power, mixed signal, and system critical FPGA products as part of a comprehensive offering of secure system and power management solutions.
As a member of Microchip’s engineering community within the FPGA BU, you will be a major contributor to the team that develops the Configuration System of our next generation FPGA products. There will also be opportunities to learn and work with cutting-edge Non-Volatile Memory technology that provides immense value and differentiation to our brand of FPGAs. Your constant interaction with other silicon design and technology development engineers will be a key component of the challenging and dynamic working environment here.
Responsibilities
As a member of Microchip’s engineering community within the FPGA BU, you will be a major contributor to the team that develops the Configuration System of our next generation FPGA products. Responsibilities

Contribute to the design of analog and digital building blocks.

Drive improvements and optimizations in verification of circuit blocks through modeling and mixed signal simulations.

Develop automation flows to raise design quality and productivity levels.

Engage in physical design planning and carry out post-layout validation.

Perform silicon validation and characterization of circuit blocks and systems.

Produce documentation associated with circuit proposals, simulation results, and silicon-based data.

Learn and assess new design and verification tools as needed.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Education Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 0 to 2 years of experience.

Solid foundation in transistor behavior fundamentals.
-
Strong knowledge in analog circuit design techniques and building blocks.
Qualifications
-
Effective communicator in both verbal and written forms.

Self-motivated, organized, and proactive team player.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in a collaborative group environment.

Familiarity with Linux/UNIX platforms and working knowledge of any scripting language.

Academic knowledge of volatile and non-volatile memories is a plus.

Experience with circuit simulators (HSPICE, Spectre, etc.) and Cadence Design Environment is a plus.

Pay Range:
The expected base salary range for this position, if filled in California, is $64,480 - $128,000, dependent on specific skills and work experience. We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. In addition to these components, our package includes health benefits that begin day one, retirement savings plans, and an industry leading ESPP program with a 2 year look back feature.
