Staff Engineer - Mechanical

The Role
- Investigate and design components for engineering electrical test laboratory
- Familiar with diesel engine applications and be able to design and specify components for a mobile application
- Familiar with cooling systems and be able to work with suppliers to design and specify systems to meet large and small cooling needs
- Participates in a cross-functional team to develop new products
- Develops new components, products using Computer Aided Design and Drafting System
- Maintains engineering documentation
- Check completed work assigned to drafting personnel
- Prepare Bills of Material (BOM) and provide purchasing department with specifications for ordering raw materials required for fabrication
- Interface with Shop personnel during fabrication and testing to insure product compliance with design formation and delivery requirements
- Trains and develops new entry level engineers and designers
- Must have the ability to prioritize/re-prioritize tasks, carry out root cause analysis, and deal with scheduling conflicts.
Skills
- BS in Engineering, preference to mechanical or mechatronics
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
- Worked with diesel or gas generators
- Cooling design experience or having worked and be able to trouble shoot cooling systems
- Hydraulic design, maintenance, or trouble shooting experience
