MEPPI's Transportation Systems Division (TSD) is hiring a Design Drafter to create, modify and maintain technical reference documents. This would include 2D/3D drawings, maintenance procedures, assembly/disassembly procedures and training material. In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to the design of tools, processes and procedures used in production.

We are looking for individuals who can work in a team environment, create Bills of Material and have the demonstrated ability to create drawings in accordance with ASME and an understanding of Engineering Change and Configuration Control. • Create, update and maintain detailed technical reference documents and CAD/drawing files for customer submittals, assembly instructions, product modification, maintenance manuals and customer training.
  
• Generate drawings and designs based on conceptual input from relevant stakeholder departments. Prepare rough sketches and review them with appropriate parties.
• Assume responsibility for drawing control to maintain drawings and to preserve CAD data.
• Assist in the design, development and implementation of tools, processes, and procedures in support of TSD products, deliverables, and services.
• Interpret and validate Bills of Materials.
• Assist Engineering Department with design reviews.
• Participate in product and process improvement initiatives.
• Read schematics and interpret drawings when necessary.
• Assist with the review and revision of existing MELCO technical documents, drawings, manufacturing procedures and work instructions as needed.

• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or Design technologies with a minimum of 5 years’ drafting and design experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills required to communicate with customers and employees.
• Ability to read and create technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and material.
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
• Advanced ability to correctly and efficiently used computer-based 3D modeling/drafting software.
