This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Water Resources Engineer for our Lawrenceville, NJ office. Be involved in projects with our Water Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
The WSP Water Business Line is driven to provide our clients with solutions to challenging projects in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. Our engineers take part in providing local technical assistance for the analysis, development, and design of processes and infrastructure relating to stormwater BMPs, culverts, hydrology, open channel hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, floodplain modeling/mapping, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, river/stream/habitat restoration and fish passage, water quality treatment, and preserving the quality of the environment.
Your Impact
- Serve as support staff for water resources, drainage, stormwater and ecosystem restoration projects.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support water infrastructure, environmental, as well as resiliency and climate adaptation projects.
- Conduct field work and data collection for watershed studies, geomorphic assessments and to complete design tasks
- Perform GIS and CADD analyses to support engineering and technical services.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a focus in Water Resources or closely related discipline.
- 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
- Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
- Familiarity with the concepts of professional water resources engineering work relating to water supply, quality, management, and treatment for various end uses – recreationally, commercially, and/or industrially.
- Familiarity with relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
- The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent graduate or May 2022 Graduate in an accredited Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related, Undergraduate or Graduate program.
- Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
- Experience using ArcGIS, AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.
