Job Description

In support of the USDA-funded project Building Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities in South Carolina, the Lab Technician will serve on the multi-disciplinary team assisting in the monitoring of soil carbon stocks and greenhouse gas fluxes in the cropping systems of South Carolina. Other duties as assigned. The position is based at the Pee Dee Research and Education Center in Florence, SC.

JOB DUTIES:


60% - Essential - Lead the processing and carbon/nitrogen analysis of soil and plant samples. Communicate tasks/results across groups; collect and analyze data.

30% - Essential - Assist in characterizing soil health indicators.

10% - Essential - Assist other team members measuring greenhouse gas emissions in farmers' field.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Education - Bachelor's Degree - Ecology, Soil Science, Agriculture Sciences, or related disciplines
Licenses - Drivers License Class D normal < 26,000

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:


Education - Master's Degree - Ecology, Soil Science, Agriculture Sciences, or related disciplines
