UKG is looking to hire a collaborative and curious software engineer to join an extremely talented Product Development team. We are looking for a software engineer who is passionate about programming, quality, and truly enjoys what they do.

This group is responsible the SaaS solution called TeleStaff, used by most of our Public Safety customers in the US. It is our intelligent, automated workforce management technology that incorporates rules, policies, and procedures to conduct complex employee scheduling in a consistent, documented, equitable, and auditable manner. Exciting to note as well that we are working to migrate to the cloud and that it will be live on GCP soon.

Responsibilities will include:

• Designing web-based business applications and software products using modelling techniques and software design patterns.
• Collaborating with members of the team on technology concepts, ensuring the group's compliance to best practices for design as well as on the best techniques to debug and troubleshoot issues
• Participating in code and design reviews to ensure quality and conformance to product standards.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Computer Science Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
• Required technologies - Java, JavaScript, jQuery, JSP, AJAX.
• Good debugging / troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience in Spring, ORM framework such as Hibernate.
• Experience in database techniques/tools such as data modelling, Oracle, SQL, Postgres.
• Experience with unit testing processes and tools (JUnit).
• Experience in any cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience with DevOps tools like Git or Jenkins and with SAML, OAuth2, or other SSO solutions.
• Experience in JMS, ActiveMQ, Redis or any other cache technologies.
