Job Description
CenterPoint Energy is looking for a Lead Applications Developer to join our Web Development Support Team, located in Houston, TX or Evansville, IN.
You will have the ability to: define, design, and develop Web and Mobile solutions. Work as part of the Web engineering team. Ensures that requirements and on-going development efforts are considered as part of the cloud refactoring and migration approach and plans. Evaluates methods to optimize and enhance the application within cloud environment to maximize performance and minimize costs.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Expertise and interest in staying current around new Microsoft 365 solutions
- Strong understanding of Active Directory and Azure
- Facilitate / lead discussions (technical and executive) to understand business / technical requirements that result in decision making and drive decisions / alignment around deliverables.
- Deliver hands-on solutions for the client in conjunction with on and offshore teams
- Architectural expertise around Microsoft security solutions
- Has a strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, emerging trends, and related technologies
- Creates and presents solution designs, options, ideas, and innovations
- Assists with converting application code and databases to modern languages and structures using automated tools
- Integrates converted code, new databases, and interfaces into the modernized application
- Establishes project estimates and plans, identifies risks and mitigations, oversees development and delivery of technical solutions
- Able to articulate pros & cons of design/architecture decisions across a wide spectrum of factors
- Obtain baseline certifications, partner specializations, and advanced level industry-standard certifications within management-specified technology as well as utilize partner configuration tools; maintain and continually advance certifications
- Maintain and enhance product and solution knowledge as a subject matter expert in defined, targeted fields
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, innovative solutions, and competitive landscape
Your background includes:
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science, math, or other science field required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
- Azure Solution Architect Certification preferred
- 12+ years of IT experience
- Good working experience .Net Framework, C#, ASP.Net MVC, Entity Framework, Typescript, React, Ajax, HTML, CSS
- Understanding of multi-tier development methodologies
- Experience with Visual Studio, and SSMS
- Strong SQL development skills, including advanced T-SQL, stored procedures, functions
- Knowledge of SQL databases, slow query analysis and performance tuning
- Knowledge of modern application design principles
- Familiar with Microservices and componentized architectures
- Experience working in an Agile DevSecOps team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
