Quality Engineer (QE) Associate - Orlando, FL
Job Description
Lockheed Martin (LM) Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) is seeking an Operations Quality Engineer (QE) Associate for our Sensors Integration and Test manufacturing center based out of Orlando, FL. The position requires quality engineering experience with an emphasis on electrical, optical, mechanical component assembly and integration testing.
Responsibilities include:
Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; supports product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.
Analyzing and resolving process issues varying from basic to very complex.
Leads corrective action meetings, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution, and ensures responsible parties meet commitments.
Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001 / AS9100.
Evaluate the design assurance activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality.
Interfaces with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality related issues.
Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.
Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.
This position requires working on-site full-time.
Basic Qualifications:
Technical Engineering degree at the Bachelor level or above
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Knowledge of robotics and automation implementation
Knowledgeable of AS9100 standard and implementation of Quality Management System
Experience processing material review boards and dispositioning non-conformances
Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for development of quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for inspection and test of manufactured products (electronic assemblies)
Experience doing root cause analysis and corrective action planning
Knowledge/experience evaluating risk when establishing new processes, automated controls and improvements
Demonstrated understanding of audit techniques
Knowledge of Configuration Management and control processes
Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Demonstrated presentation skills
Desired Skills:
Experience implementing automated processes and robotic technologies.
Ability to design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment
Special Process Engineering experience
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product / performance specifications and other systems integration technical data
Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and / or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)
SAP Application experience
Effective communication skills - written, oral, listening and technical writing
Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration
Strong knowledge of Industry recognized Quality systems such as International (ISO), aerospace (AS), and FAA regulations
