Stowage Integration Engineer
Job Description
Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Stowage Integration Engineer on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX). The Stowage Integration Engineer supports the International Space Station (ISS) Program Office in tracking on-orbit stowage and projecting future mission needs. The Stowage Integration Engineer will coordinate with the ISS engineering organizations, the Flight Operations Directorate, and other ISS Program stakeholders to ensure adequate space is available for ISS cargo resupply missions and daily activities.

The International Space Station (ISS) Stowage Integration Engineer will:
Collect and analyze International Space Station (ISS) on-orbit stowage data systematically, using Excel or similar program(s), to model current and future stowage and disposal trends.- Develop and track mission resources, requirement compliance and development, process evaluation and design, data integration, and data source validation.
- Complete what-if analyses and develop reporting capabilities.
- Present analysis results and recommendations to HSFTIC management and NASA customer in one-on-one meetings and/or panels/boards.
- Monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements in support of International Space Station (ISS).
- Maintain up to date working knowledge of threats and risks associated with ISS stowage and incorporate those into resupply recommendations.
- Design, develop, and maintain a repository for all stowage related data to aid special studies and continued trending.
- Integrate across multiple disciplines and stakeholders to ensure all parties are coordinated and working to the same assumptions and expectations.
- Coordinate with International Partners to resolve stowage related challenges.
- Be dedicated to innovative thinking to resolve complex resource and process issues.
- Specific tasking may include, but are not limited to projects in the following areas:
- Data analysis on spacecraft systems and processes
- Requirements development and management
- Optimizing logistics planning for parametric studies
- Identifying risk, mitigations, and recommendations to meet integrated priorities
- Developing/updating training materials for new/evolving areas
- Support to senior management at NASA boards and panels
- Travel on a periodic basis to support program reviews and technical interchange meetings (TIMs). Support periodic overtime and shiftwork as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
- Currently enrolled in a BS Degree program in Engineering, Math or Science from an accredited engineering school, college or university with an anticipated graduation no later than May 2023.
- OR -
- BS degree in Engineering, Math or Science from an accredited engineering school, college or university.
- OR -
- BS degree in Engineering, Math or Science from an accredited engineering school, college or university, plus five (5) years of professional work experience.
- OR -
- BS degree in Engineering, Math or Science from an accredited engineering school, college or university, plus ten (10) years of professional work experience.
Project management & leadership experience, including managing deliverables, establishing schedule, and updating various levels of management.- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and take initiative in completing tasks with minimal management direction.
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination, and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, interdependence, and team working skills. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Understanding of basic computer programming elements, principles, and techniques.
Preferences:
- International Space Station (ISS) or other space industry related experience (e.g. space craft integration).
- Previous experience with generic logistics methodologies and tools.
- Previous experience with ISS stowage processes and tools is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in IMS (Inventory Management System), MIDAS (Mission Integration Database Application System), MCC-H ISS Gateway.
- Experience with SharePoint or Subsite Admin training.

- Experience with data trending and statistics.
Essential Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
