Job Description:
Position Summary:
Leads the Process Improvement Pillar and work systems for the site and a member of the Plant Steering Team. Is responsible for managing and coaching Process Improvement Teams (PIT) to improve key performance metrics pertaining to people, safety, quality, service, and cost. Responsibilities include collaborating with site leadership and front-line associates to prioritize project initiation, develop project objectives, facilitate and coach teams, lead the implementation of project results and track project results.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads and coaches problem-solving through structured process improvement team methodologies such as Kaizen Events, PDCA, and/or DMAIC.
  • Identifies supply chain process requirements, improvement opportunities and best practices for site, ensuring alignment with TreeHouse Management Operating Structure. Leads gap closure and replication activities for the site.
  • Train and coach managers, supervisors, and operators on problem solving tools.
Owns RedZone and drives implementation
  • Reviews and examines project completion, obstacles, problem resolution, timelines, recommendations, and conclusions. Manages and updates company cost savings initiatives using company web-based platform. Maintains healthy pipeline of opportunities.
  • Owns defining which process improvement tools are necessary to drive improvement given the identified opportunity.
  • Monitors and supports key metrics and KPIs for overall process effectiveness within the site. Participates with management to leverage site data to prioritize projects, define project requirements, scope, resources, team members, tasks, and project owners.
  • Serves as a strategic partner with the center process improvement leader to maintain alignment and compliance with the TreeHouse continuous improvement strategy and enterprise initiatives.
  • Create and execute on standard processes for rapid changeovers (RCO)
  • Leads Value Stream Mapping for the site
  • Owns line balancing through partnering with planning and scheduling to optimize production schedule
  • Site leader for material flow and layout
  • Share best practices with other Process Improvement Owners
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Process or Industrial Engineering or Minimum 2 years plant manufacturing experience, and formal continuous improvement skills training.
  • Strong PC skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other applicable applications such as Microsoft Project, Minitab, etc.
  • Proven problem-solver using Continuous Improvement methods and tools to drive performance.
  • Experience influencing and coaching teams
  • Demonstrates good analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to drive insights
  • Demonstrates ability to overcome ambiguous and complex situations
  • Brings strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Experience and understanding of TMOS principles (or lean production system)
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well and communicate with others
Education:
  • High School or equivalent
  • High School plus specialized training (min 6mos-2yrs)/College Certificate (Canada)
  • Associate Degree/College Diploma (Canada – 2-3 years)
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Type: Engineering, Supply Chain or Business
