IT Software Systems Engineer #178
This position is located on site in Albuquerque, NM.
About the Job
We are seeking an IT Software Systems Engineer to join our team to transform and lead our asset management activities. In this role you will help design and develop a new asset management solution and lead the critical tasks of procuring, tracking, and maintaining the group's thousands of calibrated assets. On any given day you may be called on to:
Develop requirements, workflow, and systems analysis for a new asset management solution customized to meet the needs of the group
Establish standards for development and maintenance of the asset management system
Apply strategic thinking to deliver user-experience solutions with a focus on user needs, technical goals, and interaction constraints with other groups
Apply standard software engineering practices in the development of software solutions
Research and evaluate new software technologies, staying current with best practices
Support procurement process for new assets
Coordinate with engineers and technologists in the group to identify and gather assets in support of testing activities
Maintain asset inventory accuracy and ensure calibration schedules are met for the group's sensors
Assist with physical inventory management duties as cycle counts and database reconciliation and physical dispositions
Assist with physical inventory management duties such as cycle counts and database reconciliation and physical dispositions
Assist in the gathering, preparation, and transport of assets to and from on-site calibration services
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work on site.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Minimum one year professional or academic experience in software/application development
Experience using SQL or other relational databases
Experience in application development and object-oriented programming
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance
Desired Qualifications
Basic knowledge of common dynamic sensor assets (e.g. accelerometers and load cells)
Experience in requirements engineering
Background Check and Screenings
