Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Software Developer to be based in Germantown, MD .
_This position is expected to begin in March 2023._
AECOM TechWorks has supported our customers in some of their most challenging times. AECOM has helped both public and private sector clients collect, manage, process, store and exploit data for thousands of damaged structures, hundreds of thousands of square miles of imagery, dozens of critical infrastructure components, and has deployed dozens of solutions on mobile, tablet, desktop, and browser-based platforms. Our portfolio of meaningful and high- profile projects continue to expand.
The successful candidate will support AECOM TechWorks in planning, implementing, and maintaining customer-specific software development projects. We're looking for someone to join our development team who is focused on building products for a wide variety of clients primarily using AngularJS, React, and other JavaScript frameworks but may also include .NET programming. This can be a hybrid position, with the expectation of working collaboratively with the team by utilizing Microsoft Teams, JIRA, Confluence and other collaboration and development tools.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
+ Assisting with the development and maintenance of user-facing layouts and features
+ Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle
+ Working in a collaborative fast-paced environment
+ Building reusable code and libraries for future use
+ Working closely with the infrastructure team, collaborating on project scope and delivery
+ Optimizing code for maximum speed and scalability
+ Work in a team environment. Collaborate with other developers, data analysts, testers, managers, and clients (internal and external)
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education (Associate's degree + 2 years of experience, or High School/GED + 4 years of experience)
+ Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is required
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Proven knowledge on how to translate and develop final application prototypes into production-ready code
+ Experience with JavaScript (AngularJS, React, JQuery, NodeJS) TypeScript, and/or C#
+ Experience working in a team environment. Ability to collaborate with other developers, testers, managers, and clients (internal and external)
+ Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly
+ Excellent verbal and written skills
+ Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and DevOps
+ Knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
+ Strong problem-solving skills
+ Knowledge of automated testing techniques
+ Familiar with Web APIs
