Job Summary:
Work closely with Area Development Teams, Reserves Team, Technology Solutions Teams, Budget and Planning Team, and Geoscience Teams to build and support internal workflows, business processes, software development, data analytics and integration.
Job Duties:
- Evaluate well performance using conventional and advanced (statistical) techniques
- Evaluate, enhance, and develop well production forecasting methods, including machine learning techniques
- Complete PTA/RTA for wells as appropriate to evaluate well performance and propose recommendations to enhance field development
- Complete lookbacks on well performance as needed on quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis
- Evaluate impact of production forecasting method changes on reserves and NAV
- Work closely with development teams to monitor competitor activities and contribute to subsurface benchmarking reports
- Evaluate upgrades to existing tools and workflows, both internal and external opportunities
- Champion Digital Strategy for Reservoir Engineering team in collaboration with Data Science team
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, preferably Petroleum Engineering. MS or PhD is a plus, but not a requirement
- Minimum of 5, preferably 8+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry with an operator
- Proficient in economic analysis software and reserve estimation
- Experience in exploration and exploitation in one or more of the major shale oil plays in US: Permian, Bakken, Eagle Ford
- Strong background in petroleum engineering, PTA/RTA, integrated production modeling, reservoir management, well interaction analysis, and production optimization
- Experience with artificial lift design, diagnosis and optimization for lift types is preferred
- Experience in machine learning, data analytics, and data pipeline engineering is preferred
- Proficiency in one of the programming languages is required (Python or R is preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access) is required
- Proficiency in Data Engineering (Alteryx and SQL) is required
- Experience with Economics software (ARIES, Mosaic, Recon, Econ, Combo Curve or other commercial packages) is preferred
- Proficiency in one of the business intelligence tools is required (Spotfire is preferred)
- Candidate should demonstrate following skills on the job

- Must be comfortable working with large amounts of data and at times ambiguous data
