We are searching for a Full-Stack Developer to join the Big Ass Fans team to help design, develop, and maintain software associated with our Internet of Things (IoT) product offerings. In this role, you will be responsible for writing and testing code, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the needs of our stakeholders and customers. Our product portfolios are continually growing and range from small to Big Ass Fans, and from directional fans to evaporative coolers.

Responsibilities

• 
  Design and build scalable, high-quality, containerized web applications using tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Write and maintain clean, efficient, and reusable code.
• Implement user interfaces using modern web development frameworks such as React, Laravel, and Adonis.
• Develop and maintain APIs and microservices.
• Work with databases and data storage solutions, such as MySQL and Redis.
• Collaborate with other software developers, firmware developers, and mobile app developers to define, design, and ship new IoT features.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in the application.
• Design and implement a continuous delivery pipeline.
• Automate the build, test, and deployment process using tools such as Jenkins, AWS Codebuild, and AWS Codepipeline.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Cloudformation.
• Monitor the performance and availability of applications and infrastructure, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Present to cross-functional teams, gather feedback, document and prioritize business, product, hardware engineering and customer needs related to software and IoT developments.
• Implement and maintain security and compliance controls.
• Stay up to date with the latest web development trends and technologies.
• Provide technical updates to leadership
• Provide technical leadership and other and mentor other team members.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong foundational knowledge of software engineering and familiarity with various technologies such as AWS IoT components, REST APIs, SQL, databases, etc.
• Knowledge and experience in continuous delivery methodologies like continuous integration, continuous deployment
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and familiarity with concepts such as scalability, availability, and security. IoT experience is a plus
• Be comfortable in a fast-growing and changing environment
• Have outstanding assessment, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills, and the ability to drive resolution and improvement
• Collaborate with colleagues, customers, and business partners at all levels with a “roll up the sleeves” approach, strong work ethic and integrity, and clear ownership stake in company and customer success
