Primary Function
Responsible for managing and providing technical and analytical support to Customers, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Technical Service by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer design & application processes; evaluate components, equipment, piping and placement; and offer solutions to customer application problems.
- Communicate with customers and sales force to solicit information pertinent to product design and application.
- Evaluate information collected and propose revisions, updates, enhancements and improvements to Product Management and Engineering.
- Provide technical application & design support, piping & product drawings and diagrams, and troubleshooting guidance to customers and sales.
- Provide technical guidance on product selection and recommend optimum products for specific applications.
- Actively participate in training material development, and train customers and sales personnel on product selection, product sizing, product operation and maintenance.
- Collect market-driven feedback from customers to create concept documents and develop collateral material to support customer requests for piping diagrams, electrical schematics, custom package system designs and commercial application inquiries.
- Design custom package systems per customer specifications complete with piping diagrams, electrical and control schematics and bills of materials.
- Coordinate internally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Marketing to develop and manage pricing structure for custom package system options and accessories.
- Create and maintain a library of design plans and images for use in the development and construction of custom package systems.
- Create and maintain product application and system design guidelines in response to common field questions and issues.
- Provide technical recommendations to Product Management and Engineering for product improvements or revisions.
- Assist with the development of product literature and installation guides.
- Participate and conduct presentations in product training and application schools
- Coordinate and participate in field test applications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- 1+ year(s) of related work experience
- Experience with CAD and/or 3D Parametric CAD Applications is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally in a team environment.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific terms, technical journals, technical procedures, government regulations and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from large and diverse audiences to include: groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform calculations of multiplication, division, addition and subtraction. Ability to apply concepts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Must have basic knowledge of use of mathematical relationships to evaluate data and make informed decisions.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define and solve problems independently, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Sufficient technical aptitude to understand and influence complex technology issues.
- COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, to include but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, plus knowledge of the Internet and prior experience in drafting with the use of CAD based programs and/or Microsoft Visio.
