Description of Duties: Please give a brief description of what the employee will be doing during this assignment. Include in the description any type of decisions the employee will be making on a regular basis in the position. The CNA Clinical Instructor(s) plans and teaches the theory modules and supervises the students during their clinical experience. The CAN Clinical Instructor(s) evaluates each student according to the high school's grading standard and works with students to make up for any missed classes or clinical experiences. The Instructor will review the progress of the students with SONHP Program Director and the Principal of the high school at mutually agreeable points throughout the curriculum and will notify the SONHP Program Director and Principal of any concerns regarding student performance. The Clinical Instructor(s) educates and evaluates the students according to the guidelines provided by the state. The Clinical Instructor(s) also works with the SONHP Program Director and the respective Principal
to create further learning experiences regarding nursing and healthcare that will supplement and enhance the learning experience of the students. The Program is delivered on: Eight (8) Fridays for a total of 60 hours of classroom instruction during the spring or summer, and Sixteen (16) Saturdays for 100 clinical practice on-site as a supervisor at a clinical site. Clinical instructors also have an additional 100 hours to work with students on their skills or technical learning. Total hours: 260 hours (8 Fridays and 16 Saturdays), plus the 100 hours to work with students on their skills or technical learning.
