We are looking for software engineers to join our Behavior Planning team to redefine the way we drive. As part of this team you will build our motion and path planning algorithms for various design domains, which spans challenges from achieving a comfortable driving experience, occlusion handling, driver-in-the-loop situations, all the way to the long tail of traffic rules that need to be handled fully autonomously. You will have the opportunity to deploy your algorithms and truly have the first-hand experience of your work driving the cars of the future.
What you will be doing:
  • Develop algorithms for motion and behavior planning on highways and urban roads
  • Integrate the algorithms into our software stack and mature them to production quality
  • Lead designing and implementing new behavior planning features
  • Validate and test various scenarios in simulation and on the road
  • Solve problems of how to combine data driven and classical solutions to create a robust pipeline
  • Design a system that works in multiple different settings, map availability, environmental conditions
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers of other domains including perception, mapping, vehicle control and user experience
What we need to see:
  • BS or higher in an engineering technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in AV software development
  • Excellent knowledge of C/C++
  • Ability to think analytically and solve technical problems in a compute constrained system
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Excellent communication skills
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • PhD in a relevant field or related research experience is helpful
  • Expert level understanding of planning algorithms
  • Knowledge of CUDA is a plus

The base salary range is $122,000 - $268,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
