The Role
Reporting to the Vice President of Pipelines and Terminals, you will assist in designing, testing, maintaining, and repairing the equipment and processes used in our midstream function. As part of your specific responsibilities, in the following areas, you will:
Select in-line inspection tools while managing data input and analysis- Integrity assessment/assurance activities like FFS, Corrosion Evaluations, Remaining Life Studies including pipeline defect assessments like dents, ovalities, laminations, cracks, etc.
- Identify pipeline preventative and mitigative measures, reassessment internal and reassessment methods
- Review overall integrity effectiveness and management which includes, criticality assessments, pipeline threat assessments, consequence assessments, development of fit-for purpose risk-based
- Assist in developing and executing capital or operational project programs
- Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, or drawings
- Calculate required capacities for equipment of proposed system to obtain specified performance
- Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives, and test nature of technical problems such as redesign
- Read, develop, and prepare:
- Process Flow Diagram
- Piping and Instrument Diagram
- Control narratives
- Cause and Effect charts
- Alarm summaries
- Instrument specifications and data sheets (process sensors, transmitters, valves, actuators, positioners, discrete sensors, analytical instruments)
- Automation/Control system architecture drawing
- Control systems specification and design
- HAZOP, LOPA, SRS
- Other duties as assigned

The Requirements
To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Pipeline Engineer opportunity, you will have:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Pipeline/Metallurgy Engineering or related disciplines- 6+ years of experience in upstream oil & gas production, midstream terminals, liquified natural gas, refining, and/or petrochemical plants
- Experience with creation, management, and execution of CapEx or OpEx projects with proven ability to stay within budgetary guidelines
- Knowledge of PHMSA compliance and FERC regulations
- Working knowledge of control systems (preferably ABB Bailey N90, S+ Engineering, Composer, A-B PLCs, ABB 800XA)
- Understanding of instrumentation and process measurement principle, process dynamics, control tuning, control engineering principles, and practical operating knowledge
- Programming and database administration experience
- Knowledge and application of National Electrical Code and other applicable industry codes and standards as they apply to control system specification and design
