Position Overview:

Alkami is hiring a Test Engineer II to join our Product Engineering Team. This is a remote position. The Test Engineer will collaborate with Developers, Scrum Masters, and Product Managers to drive testability, write automated test scripts, and manually test software to ensure high quality releases. You must be able to think critically about complex and ambiguous problems, have strong troubleshooting skills, and possess a deep knowledge of test development methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering quality releases to work on our core products such as our Online Banking Suite and Mobile iOS and Android applications. This position is technical with a high coding bar, so we’re seeking a quality guru with an appetite for automation! You are proactive in your communication and an influencer of quality. You will be part of a small, high performing team and will have the opportunity to excel and grow your career while delivering great quality products at a fast pace.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Write automation code, document, and test your contributions in a high-energy, team-oriented environment
• Test for acceptance criteria and affected functionality
• Perform regression, smoke, API, UI and manual testing
• Identify key risk factors and be able to speak to the areas of our product that are high risk
• Understand project documents, customer needs, and product objectives to create test plans and strategies with guidance
• Deploy packages to integrated and team environments independently
• Work closely with developers and other stakeholders to engineer and integrate quality through the entire software development lifecycle
• Reproduce, debug and isolate problems, and verify fixes
• Analyze test logs, create test reports, provide release risk assessment, and quality recommendations for stakeholders
• Collaborate with developers in reviewing unit test and integration results for coverage analysis

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology discipline or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years web/mobile application QA experience in a fast paced agile environment
• 2+ years experience developing high quality test strategies
• 2+ years testing APIs
• 2+ years experience in web application and device test automation frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, Robotium, Appium or equivalent tool(s)
• 2+ test automation scripts
• 2+ years automation scripting experience
• Working knowledge of troubleshooting environment issues
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and also independently
• Ability to communicate ideas effectively written and verbal
• Ability to operate in a fast paced, detail-oriented organization
• Ability to occasionally work off hours to support development teams as needed

Desired Skills:

• Advanced experience writing SQL queries
• Basic familiarity with .NET/Javascript/Java/Python/Node.js programming languages
• IIS
