Associate Software Engineer
The Role
The Wealth Advisor Solutions (WAS) Team, within Fidelity Institutional Business Enablement Technology (FIBET), is seeking a full-stack software engineer! This role requires an upbeat self-starter who can champion collaboration and cultivate a close partnership with business and the development teams to craft and implement solutions on the WAS platform.
The Team
The WAS development team at Fidelity designs, builds, and supports an outstanding platform that allows Fidelity Representatives to create referrals on behalf of their clients to qualified Registered Advisor Firms (RIAs.). This team is an innovative, diverse, and hardworking group, who use an Agile approach and principles to deliver solutions that provide tailored engagement experiences.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Engineering Expertise:
- BA/BS in computer science, engineering or related field
- 1+ years previous professional experience in software development and a sophisticated understanding of .NET Core, Java, C#, and related technologies
- Previous REST API development experience
- Spring, preferably Spring Boot experience
- Specialist in understanding of Object-Oriented design and concepts
- Experience with Oracle database and PL-SQL queries
- Experience working in an Agile software delivery environment, with exposure to CI/CD
- Experience with AWS
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Git, Jenkins, Flosum, Copado, etc.
Engineering Leadership:
- Robust critical thinking skills coupled with a desire for growth, to learn and to engage with peers in technical and design discussions
- Experience in communicating technical needs and capabilities to non-technical team members, product owners, and partners
- Ability to utilize a long-term mentality to help produce scalable, maintainable solutions
- Desire to provide outstanding product support, including on-call support, when necessary
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related major with 1+ years of software development experience or advanced degree in computer science (or related major) with 1+ years of software development experience.
