Job Description
The Arizona Geological Survey (AZGS), a non-academic unit within the College of Sciences at the University of Arizona, is looking for a qualified Full Stack Developer (PostgreSQL, Express, React, Node). The applicant will join a technical research team working in the areas of machine-learning, web design, information science, data analysis, and cyberinfrastructure. A successful candidate will be able to integrate into this diverse working group and build software tools to support AZGS researchers and services.

- Community Design: Meet with supervisor and representatives of the prospective user-community to outline desired application specifications and functionality.
- Research Existing Tools: Research relevant data standards, schemas, APIs, SDKs, and overall community best-practices in order to provide feedback on the feasibility of different design paths to supervisor.
- Software Implementation: Code (JavaScript or Typescript) necessary scripts and functions to implement provided application specifications, create and run tests to assess security and performance, and fully document efforts using git and GitHub.
- Devops: Work with AZGS systems administrator, database management team, and supervisor to set up appropriate development and/or production environments.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Experience in the .NET development framework.
- Experience with NoSQL or Graph databases.
- Experience with geospatial web development tools such as PostGIS, arcpy, geoandas, QGIS, or leaflet.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services S3 deployments.
