Job Description – Sr. Software Test Engineer

The Test Engineer supports and ensures successful delivery of high-quality products and coordinates with other teams for end-to-end execution. Support the development team through Planning, identifying use cases, creating/executing test cases, test automation and generate reports. This work is accomplished following Agile Methodology in support of CI/CD pipeline with frequent releases. The ideal candidate should be highly technical, methodical, a self-starter and passionate about Quality which drives the growth and success of a product.
As a Test Engineer at SVB, you should be able to
- Understand software internals, debug problems, builds/maintains automated test framework, automate repetitive tasks
- Develop expert knowledge of the software and be an SME
- Builds or uses automation tools to test interfaces between systems and applications such as Web Services, API’s
- Be responsible for the overall quality of projects and changes through execution of all aspects of the SDLC/STLC
- Adhere to SVB Enterprise Software Delivery Methodology
- Work closely with development and Product Owners to ensure timely collaboration and resolution
- Utilize JIRA as the defect tracking system and report issues promptly and accurately
- Ensure requirement traceability of deliverables
- Records and reports on testing metrics
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience.
- Experience in building Test Automation framework, test automation scripting, execution and reporting
- Knowledge of Testing Methodology (BDD/TDD) - Cucumber, TestNG
- Experience in API Automation Testing – Rest Assured, Karate
- Experience in programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, Java Script etc.
- Experience in web application testing tools such as Selenium
- Knowledge and experience in Cloud Platforms and Services such as Amazon, Azure
- Experience in Agile using tools such as JIRA or Rally
- Experience in Test Management Tools such as Zephyr or X-ray
- Experience in Agile, Scrum, Kanban methodologies
- Experience in CI/CD pipeline execution with Bitbucket/Gitlab
- Experience with POSTMAN, Swagger
Base Pay:
Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
