The IT Store Construction Associate Field Engineer role is responsible for supporting our Field Engineer and Senior Field Engineer in ensuring the successful completion of all our IT-related JD, Macy's, and Finish line projects. A successful candidate will be documentation-minded, able to retain information, and follow directions. This individual should effectively exhibit JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:
Key Components
  • Supporting the completion of all our projects (JD Finish Line, Macy's)
  • Some helpdesk or hardware support background experience required
  • Minor vendor management
  • Creation of Knowledge Articles to ensure the success of all projects and support teams
  • Self-starting capabilities
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Ability to time-manage effectively
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Communicate effectively with the team
  • Additional duties and projects as required

Technical Components
  • Basic understanding of staging/imaging
  • Basic understanding of LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP
  • Basic understanding of how to physically set up computers and devices

Travel Components
  • This role will reside out of the Indianapolis Location
  • The percentage of travel for this role is estimated at 30%

Required Education and/or Experience
This position requires an Associate’s Degree (A.S.) in a related field and at least 1 year of help desk, desktop/hardware support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prefer A+ or equivalent certification, Windows 7/8/10 experience, general technology staging, or support experience focusing mainly on hardware repair.

Work Environment
The work environment for this position is a moderately noisy office setting with very limited exposure to a moderate to loud warehouse setting.
