Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for an Engineer Systems Test to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

Essential Functions:

  • Coming up to speed on the Space craft Flight Hardware, Software, and electrical ground support equipment

  • Requirements definition, creation and execution of automated test scripts (ATSs), using Python scripting

  • Test procedure authoring and execution - verification/validation of subsystem and system level requirements

  • Cross-team collaboration

  • Development of data analysis tools

  • Test data review and analysis

  • Participation in formal system testing

  • Troubleshooting efforts and anomaly resolution

  • Will be able to support multiple shifts and weekends, and offsite travel

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 2 years of engineering experience OR a Masters of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 0 years of experience.

  • Must have Python scripting experience.

  • Candidate must have, and be able to maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Python scripting experience

  • Knowledge of spacecraft hardware, software

  • Knowledge of penetration testing, network security, and the techniques used to expose and correct security flaws.

  • A broad understanding of security technologies including antivirus software, and system patches.

  • The ability to identify and spotlight vulnerabilities, correct problems, and prevent security breaches.

  • Responsibility and conscientiousness, including proper management of patches to defray business impact while keeping security protocols up-to-date.

  • The ability to think critically and innovatively about the security solutions that can keep data safe while still allowing a business to flourish.



Salary Range: $77,100 USD - $115,700 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
