The Propulsion Engineering group is hiring for a Propulsion Engineer 2/3 professional at our Chandler, AZ location.
Position Overview:
Perform analysis, design, or test of one or more moderately complex materials (including energetics), structural components, and control systems for propulsion systems. Apply engineering principles, industry standards, company standards and customer requirements to develop propulsion systems (electric, solid/liquid fuel rocket, air-breathing, thrusters) for application in launch vehicles, missile systems, and space mission systems. Coordinate strategy for developing and leveraging multi-disciplinary design, optimization, and analysis processes to support mission requirements. Define and coordinate the conduct of testing required to evaluate design work.
This requisition may be filled at either Engineer 2 or Engineer 3
Basic Qualifications - Engineer Propulsion 2
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in STEM with 0 years of related engineering experience. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security clearance.
Basic Qualifications - Engineer Propulsion 3
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with no experience
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret security clearance, or higher
Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree
Experience with Matlab and Python
Environmental testing experience
Data acquisition equipment operation
Configuration change management
Supply Chain Management of Subcontractors
Experience presenting of technical data to internal and external customers
Failure investigation techniques
