Kemper is seeking a Data Analyst to support our P&C Data projects and platforms by assisting with data analysis and reporting. Work with the technical project team to ensure technical requirements are documented, understood and implemented. Work with IT ETL and Data Analyst professionals using tools such as SQL, Tableau, ETL and IICS.

Responsibilities

The Data Analyst is involved throughout the entire development lifecycle (e.g., initial concept, requirement gathering, development support, testing, final implementation and postproduction support). You will be responsible for manual production support items while developing automated solutions.

  • Data analysis.
  • Reporting.
  • Document requirements.
  • Development testing.
  • Document data mapping, lineage, modelling, management, governance and other data aspects of the P&C Data product platform at Kemper.
  • Support efforts including the documentation of business needs and conversion to technical specifications.
  • Help with testing plans for operational reports and downstream data needs such as EDW, GL, CFA and other financial applications.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Data Analyst experience.
  • Working knowledge of SQL (TSQL/PL SQL)
  • IT Business/Technical Systems Analyst experience
  • Experience with data mapping, modelling, lineage, governance and management a plus
  • Business Intelligence experience (Business Objects, Cognos or other BI tools)
  • QA testing experience a plus
  • Knowledge or experience of the following preferred:
    • Data Warehouses/ Data Lakes
    • Business Intelligence
    • ETL
    • Cloud/AWS
  • Effective, clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Education equivalent to a college degree in information technology or technical related discipline, or the equivalent in related work experience
  • This position will be located in Jacksonville, FL or Birmingham, AL (Hybrid schedule – one day in the office per week).
