Advanced Product Development Engineer

Job Purpose
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead in evaluating key product parameters.
- Lead testing of electric axles.
- Support the development of new light vehicle axle products.
- Identifying new product opportunities.
- Support in defining potential design solutions.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of oil cooling and lubrication systems.
- Support the evaluation of product design and CAE analysis.
- Assist selection of optimum design solution.
- Define product performance goals.
- Assist the product DFMEA.
- Assist Advanced Product Engineers with the design of new products.
- Knowledge of product prototype manufacture assembly and modification.
- Coordinate the product development tests, bench and potentially vehicle tests.
- Design rules for key product parameters against product performance.
- Customer proposals and customer presentations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering- 3+ years’ experience in product development – electric drives a plus.
- Experience with electric drive traction motors.
- Experience with lubrication flow development.
- Experience with instrumentation and test stand design.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and analytical ability.
- Experience building and testing electric/hybrid systems.
- Experience with CAD software a plus.
- Must have strong project management skills to meet project milestones.
- Ability to work with other departments and suppliers to meet project milestones.
- Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally.
- Willingness and ability to work extended or irregular hours when necessary.
- Excellent writing, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Must be a self-directed and motivated individual who is willing to accept responsibility.
