Position Summary:
The Infrastructure Specialist position is a mid-level technology role that works under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Manager and/or Sr. Infrastructure Administrator. This position requires intermediate level knowledge and experience implementing servers, desktops, virtual desktops and network infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Assigned as a resource for technology projects and deployments of medium to large complexity
- Creates project plans and task lists for technology projects
- Represents Infrastructure team on enterprise projects as a project resource
- Researches and recommends technology solutions to solve business problems
- Install, configure and support Windows, VMWare, Active Directory, system integration and enterprise applications
- Schedule and resolve ticket referrals that require onsite work with end users
- Assists with user administration and password resets
- Respond to onsite emergencies
- Functions as purchasing agent for technology equipment
- Setup and deploy new equipment to end users
- Setup and deploy virtual servers and software applications
- Create and maintains documentation as required and assigned

- Post service surveys for requests and incidents
- Service request and incidents are handled according to established service level agreement

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associates Degree or higher in technology major or vocational certificate in technology
- CompTIA A+ and Network+ Certification required or Microsoft Equivalents
Required Knowledge:
- Advanced understanding of desktop operating system support in an enterprise environment
- Advanced understanding of browser based applications
- Advanced understanding of hardware setup of workstations, peripherals and mobile devices
- Advanced understanding of Windows Server 2012-2019 or Azure Administration (group policy
- Intermediate understanding of technology parts replacement and safety
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Exchange and/or 365 administration
- Intermediate understanding of virtualization administration
- Intermediate familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Suite
- Intermediate understanding of Ethernet cabling and termination
- Intermediate understanding Solid understanding of OSI model
- Intermediate understanding of network and server infrastructure
- Intermediate understanding of operating hand tools and power tools
- Basic understanding of project management methodologies and/or framework
Experience Required: 5+ years depending on education or certification
Experience must be direct hands on experience with infrastructure support in a professional setting.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Primary work is conducted in typical office settings with minimal hazards.
However, when handling service requests and incidents, may be required to:
- Crouch, bend or reach
- Lift up to 50lbs of technology equipment
- Work on step stools or ladders not exceeding 8 feet
- Work with hand tools
- Use power tools with appropriate personal protective equipment
- Replace hardware parts that require the use of an electrostatic discharge strap or equipment
- Work in an enclosed space such as telecom closets and server rooms
- Work in a data center or server room with cooler than typical office temperature and noises louder than typical office noise levels
- Drive a business owned vehicle
