What You'll Do

OVERVIEW & IMPACT:

Samsung Interface Lab (SIL) is looking for a lead Hardware Engineer with experience in high-speed and high-precision hardware platform prototyping and system bring-up.


SIL is an R&D lab that aims to develop new technologies for deployment in mobile and TV displays and camera sensors, including automotive applications. A critical step in the development cycle at SIL is creating prototype systems that serve as proof-of-concept demonstration vehicles of the technology. Such prototype systems often incorporate SIL proprietary ASICs or other forms of IP at their core.


Principal Engineer – Hardware Design will be central in implementing the prototype systems in collaboration with a team of digital and analog engineers.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prototyping of digital systems using FPGA evaluation boards
  • Participate in RTL code development of digital blocks and/or IP blocks.
  • System bring up and characterization
  • Participate in debug and characterization of SIL-developed ASICs through test automation and measurement enablement.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • D. plus 6 years or MSEE/MSc plus 8 years of logic/FPGA/hardware design, test, and bring up.
  • Experience in system prototyping using FPGAs.
  • Experience in test and characterization of high-speed or high precision systems.
  • Background in test automation and test planning. Familiarity with Python programming is a plus.
  • Experience with signal integrity and PCB S-parameter measurement.

PREFERED SKILLS

  • Good understanding of high-speed I/O signaling performance metrics such as jitter, eye mask, etc.
  • Experience in package design.

Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well

Base Pay Range

$158,400—$312,000 USD
