Grundfos CBS Inc. is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join its CBS Brookshire team. The Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all pump products meet the high standards of the Company, the Customer and all Certifying Bodies. (HI, DOE) while aiding in the daily operations of the testing laboratories to ensure accurate and timely performance testing of production and development pumps. This position reports directly to the CSU Engineering Manager and will operate daily out of the Brookshire, Texas facility. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

What is the job about?

• Supports new product development testing to ensure new products meet design performance requirements and get to market in a timely manner.
• Generates performance test data reports and performance curves using personal computer programs and software.
• Maintains, upgrades and improves test lab, to include automated data acquisition equipment. Responsible for tests and equipment meeting Hydraulic Institute, DOE or other requirements.
• Reviews sales orders to verify hydraulic selection, identifies test requirements, set-ups, etc.
• Requires understanding of centrifugal pump performance, hydraulics, computers, various test instrumentation including pressure, flow, temperature and vibration. Requires good mechanical and analytical problem-solving ability.
• Requires good interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact effectively with hourly workers, customer representatives, and co-workers. Must interface closely with Assembly, Machine Shop, Production Control, Quality Control, etc.
• Support Company quality system, in accordance with ISO 9001 for Quality, ISO 14001 for EHS as well as OHSAS 18001 for Safety.
• Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to the Company’s ISO Quality Program, Company policies, and safety & environmental regulations.
• Aid in maintaining our active certificate under the Hydraulic Institute.

What do you need to apply?

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (BSME) or equivalent working experience will be considered. Additionally, have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in testing experience and manufacturing experience with a pump manufacturing company preferred.

• Must have good computer skills and be proficient in word processing, spread sheets, data base applications, AutoCAD or similar programs.
• Must be able to write and perform data input. (LabView software).
• Must be capable of providing “hands on” help with installations and trouble shooting.
• Considerable independent action required. Responsible for maintaining Engineering integrity of assigned product lines.
• Contact and interaction with Company personnel at all levels, requiring tact and discretion.
• Company ISO Training and Departmental Specific Procedures Training.
