Job Duties and Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safety First! Safety Always! Support a preventive safety culture throughout Dana
  • Assist in development and knowledge transfer of Power Technology Group’s Metallic BiPolarPlates for Fuel Cell, utilizing engineering methodologies in conceptual design, product manufacturing, and validation.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills. Assist Dana to troubleshoot and solve prototype and launch issues using a structured, proven approach.
  • Participate in personal, electronic, and / or documented interface with customer engineering staff during program development.
  • Develop and maintain documentation.
    • Open issues list for design and engineering related issues.
    • Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) plan creation with resources needed and estimated budget required
    • Program archive file for manufacturing / tooling feasibilities / development documents
  • Participate in a culture of continual learning, continuous improvement, and cooperation
  • Support and assist Product Development Engineers in concept readiness and tooling feasibility
  • Track and record the critical process parameters/settings of the sample/trial runs. Provide a feedback report along with the sample parts upon completion of run
  • Track and record critical process parameters and make recommendations to alleviate the problems. Work with tooling technicians to modify tooling when necessary to support these trials.
  • Research and contact tooling sources globally for the best quality, price and delivery on upcoming development projects
  • Capital equipment investigation, working with suppliers, run-offs, etc.
  • Perform other duties as directed.


Education and/or Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 5 – 7 years in a metal stamping manufacturing environment is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding in the following disciplines:

Automation Electrical Hydraulics Mechanical

Stamping Equipment setup Troubleshooting Pneumatics

  • Must be flexible about hours worked
  • Strong written and oral communication skills that allow the individual to express technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software suite, CAD etc
  • PLC knowledge
  • Must be a proven self-starter with proven time management ability
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment and independently without constant direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work under timing pressures and have proven track record of dependability
  • Domestic and international travel as required during development stage and equipment run-off to support internal and external activities.
