In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. Position Purpose
Responsible for the NNPII IT Systems and Solutions Architecture Strategy including System Lifecycle Management, System backup and restoration, and Disaster Recovery Planning/Testing.
Accountabilities
- Organizes, develops, and maintains the IT Systems Solutions Architecture Strategy
- Analyzes, plans, and audits the IT Systems Lifecycle Management Strategy
- Responsible for the Disaster Recovery Plan revisions and testing
- Ensure Backup and Restore process is effective, performed, and tested
- Provides IT Governance for IT Strategies and Solutions
- Identifies IT gaps and recommends strategic technical solutions to meet those IT and/or business needs
- Provides mentoring, technical guidance, and leadership to ITS staff
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Provides IT requirements for IT projects and support other business unit projects
- Provide ad-hoc production support and after-hours support to the site
- Support and practice IT Security
- Other accountabilities as assigned
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7-10 years experience
- Practical experience in developing and administering networks with more than 200 clients
- Certification in a networking infrastructure discipline (e.g. MSCE, CNE)
- Specific knowledge of Microsoft networking principles and concepts
- Experience authoring IT proposals, requirements, and specifications
Desired Qualifications
- Trouble-shoot, diagnose, resolve and document IT infrastructure systems
- Perform life-cycle system development tasks for IT infrastructure
- Create, implement, and ensure adherence to strategic IT solution strategies
- Maintain and update the IT Disaster Recovery Plan and ensure testing of the plan
- Experience in backing up and restoring systems
- Perform project implementation and management tasks, including needs assessment, market surveys, specification development, system implementation and training for various information technology, telecommunication technology projects in accordance with established procedures
- Operate infrastructure systems under FDA regulations and guidelines as they relate to computer-based information and automation systems
- Coordinate computer system operation and administration tasks of multi-user computer and communications systems, including user security administration, training, backup, restoration, system software updates, performance monitoring, problem determination and resolution
- Establish and operate within IT infrastructure cost center budget
- Establish, enforce and maintain IT infrastructure policies and procedures
- Has authoritative responsibility for IT infrastructure security
- Coordinates activities of IT infrastructure team
- Maintain infrastructure documentation in accordance with federal and corporate requirements
- Participate in corporate infrastructure guidance groups
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Strategic IT Planning, IT Project Management, IT Systems Analysis (Requirement gathering, Cost/Benefit Proposal Generation), Software and Hardware Life Cycle Methodologies, Software Quality Assurance, System Specification Development, Analytical Problem Solving (SPC, TQM), Critical FDA Computer System Requirements (21CFRPart 11), Computer Internetworking, Configuration Management and Control, Information System Security Principles
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lb
- Ability to work in confined spaces and near operation equipment
- Ability to work in moderate to loud noise environments
- Ability to work hours necessary to support production and maintenance activities
- Interface with all departments to obtain/relay information
- Develop contacts with outside vendors and contractors
- Up to 15% travel
