In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. ***This position will be in Kansas City, MO**
Summary Of Duties:
- Participates and shares guidance in teams to provide quality input for the development and improvement of supplier quality management systems
- Supports supplier improvement activities by assessing technical capabilities, providing training and preparing for audit
- Assists in capacity assessments of suppliers to help determine and prevent current and future bottlenecks and ensure right sizing of supply base
- Participates in development of methods and writes detailed processes for supplier improvement and training to requirements
- Coordinates the improvement of quality and contract requirements to support supplier conformance
- Provides technical assistance to commodity areas
- Develops and monitors supplier quality metrics, levels, and trends across the supply base to identify any actions required for improvement
- Builds and maintains strong relationships and communication plans with suppliers
- Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding supplier deficiencies
- Assists in resolving global or strategic issues that impact multiple part families, commodities, or suppliers
- Evaluates opportunities for supplier process gap prevention and implements specific and preventative corrective actions
- Interacts with customers, suppliers, peers, and others to assist in resolving process gaps both internal and external
- Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established ES&H requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment. Takes actions necessary to stop work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every associate has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified
- Travel (30%) is required
You Must Have:
- U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy Q-level security clearance
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution/program or Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from an accredited program
- Four or more years of relevant experience in engineering or related technical activities
We Value:
- Existing DOE Q-Clearance desirable
- Supplier development and audit experience
- Ability to analyze quality and contract requirements to develop effective supplier development processes and improve existing processes
- Demonstrated ability to lead quality and process improvement projects
- Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and methodology; Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to influence others to accomplish complex tasks and solve complex technical problems
- Ability and willingness to drive change and challenge / improve existing processes
- Demonstrated project management/leadership skills; ability to evaluate situations, determine corrective measures, plan and lead other employees and suppliers to execute plans to meet customer deliverables
