Job Duties and Responsibilities


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrified powertrain system engineering activities, including Requirements Elicitation, Requirements Analysis, and System Architectural Design.
  • Elicit and manage stakeholder requirements through direct engagement with customers and internal project teams.
  • Perform establishment, evaluation, and decomposition of electrified powertrain system requirements.
  • Support requirements decomposition to subsystem technical specifications.
  • Support and perform feature-based trade-off analyses using simulation tools such as Simscape® or Amesim®.
  • Establish traceability from stakeholder requirements to system requirements to system verification.
  • Create and update system boundary diagrams and interface control documents.
  • Assure ISO 26262 process requirements are met and support the Functional Safety workstream from Item Definition through definition and management of Safety Requirements.
  • Participate in APQP activities including development of the FMEA, DVP.
  • Support Project Management in technical project planning and monitoring leveraging Dana’s Design Review and Stage Gate processes.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science, Physics, Electrical Computer Science and/or Mechanical Engineering required. Master’s degree in Engineering Science, Physics, Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant system engineering experience. (Aerospace or similar industry experience acceptable).
  • 2 years of experience with Battery Electric or Hybrid Vehicle systems.
  • 2 years of experience with requirements management tools and processes, such as Doors or Polarion.
  • Ability to successfully function in a team with cross-functional team members.
  • Self-directed and motivated individual who is organized and able to accept multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner.
  • Basic knowledge of Automotive SPICE process framework and ISO 26262 Functional Safety standards.
  • Understanding of APQP processes and tools; such as DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP, and Process Validation.
  • Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally.


Preferred:

  • 5 years of experience performing automotive powertrain system engineering.
  • Architecture knowledge of electrified vehicle powertrain systems.
  • Experience working with SysML/UML for system architectural design.
  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter, Azure Repos (git), and Artifactory is desirable.
