Overview and Summary:
Paramount Global Tech is hiring a Senior Director of Production Technology Research and Standards within the Global Production Technology division. This division collaborates with Production operations and technology teams throughout Paramount Global. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective collaboration between the Production Technology team and Production Operations teams as they research new, emerging technologies. The position will be responsible for external collaboration opportunities with industry partners through both direct relationships and industry standards bodies. This person is forward looking and helps to ensure bidirectional communication around what is being researched around the industry and influences industry developments to ensure that they align with company needs. This individual should be capable of clearly communicating new concepts to all individuals of varying levels throughout the organization.
Responsibilities Include:
Develop subject matter expertise in new and emerging production technologies. Examples of current areas of focus include AI, ML, Virtual Production, and Cloud Production
Establish frameworks and processes required for repeatable research procedures
Manage rotation of research areas as demands for new focus arises
Liaise with Steering committees, Senior Executives, VPs, Directors, program sponsors and strategic partners
Ensure industry and vendor alignment to and directly supporting the achievement of Paramount's strategic objectives
Communicate emerging technological concepts and developments to leadership, clearly articulating any impact to established methods and solutions
Generate easily digestible presentations and demonstrations for new research areas
Lead research areas, as identified, to determine early feasibility and if pursuing a POC is warranted
Successful transition of approved research concepts to POC development
Collaboration across operational and technical teams
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of demonstrated industry engagement with forums and standards bodies on emerging production technology topics and concepts
10+ years of experience with creative and content creation technology including Production, VFX, and Post-production, demonstrating successful influence on development and deployment of production technologies benefiting and advancing content production
Possess strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to collaborate with third parties to the benefit of all parties involved
Additional Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to transition research concepts to implementable solutions
Successful experience leading research projects directly, through a team, or through collaboration
Established, positive reputation in the content production industry
Skilled at working within standards bodies and industry forums
Background in creative technologies that are part of pre-production, production, or post-production.
Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and opposing demands.
History of successfully conveying highly technical concepts with non-technical users
Ability to establish collaborative research efforts around complex multifaceted initiatives, across multiple teams
Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives.
Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills.

Hiring Salary Range: $185,000.00 - 200,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
