Job Summary:
This role is in the Reedy Creek Energy Services (RCES) organization. RCES Cast Members work on behalf of the Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID) designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining RCID-owned utility systems across the Walt Disney World Resort.
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for engineering and technical support of electric utility systems across the Walt Disney World resort. Duties will include planning and running utility projects and coordinating contractors and design consultants. Additionally, this position will document distribution systems and design standards and provide technical support to utility personnel.
The Electrical Engineer will report to the Senior Electrical Project Manager and will work closely with the Principal Electrical Engineer as well as the Chief Electrical Operations Engineer.
Responsibilities/You Will
- Provide engineering and technical direction to engineering consultants to support the preparation of electrical studies, reports, plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Develop equipment and construction specifications.
- Provide oversight for utility system capital planning addressing system capacity, end-of-life equipment replacement, and installation of utility infrastructure systems.
- Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
Basic Qualifications/You Will Have
- 2+ years of applicable experience in distribution, industrial, or a related field.
- Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Ability to interpret wiring and schematic drawings
- Ability to work in various work environments, including outdoor field locations.
- Ability to work extended hours to support system emergencies and adverse weather events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with one or more of the following: electrical transmission, substation, underground distribution systems, material, and equipment (69kV, 5kV, or 12kV).
- Knowledge of NERC standards and compliance conditions.
- Working knowledge of applicable standards and codes applicable to electric utility systems.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
