The Marine Design Engineer works on specific design activities under the supervision of a team leader to meet assigned objectives using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, procedures, and shop practices. Includes activities related to the design and improvement of existing products and components.
As an you will be responsible for:
- Creating gearbox designs from concept to production as part of a cross-functional team.
- 3D CAD modeling, calculations, detailed design engineering/drafting and support of manufacturing, assembly, and testing of products.
- Working on products with new designs or leveraging of existing designs.
- Communicating with customers and project managers to understand project scope and to ensure customer and industry specifications are followed.
- Working on multiple projects with overlapping schedules to achieve engineering deliverables on time.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD Software (PTC CREO preferred)
- Can coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Have effective problem identification and solution skills.
