We are searching for a co-op pursuing an Engineering degree with research experience to support the Orthobiologics/Vet Engineering and Research team here in sunny Naples, FL. This role will help drive product innovation and support existing product lines and research projects. The co-op will have the opportunity to design and evaluate medical device prototypes, develop original research protocols and build working relationships with internal departments. This Co-op will run from July 2023 – December 2023. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:
The OrthoBiologics/Vet Engineering and Research Department is seeking a Co-op to support and assist with product development and research efforts. This Co-op will be responsible for prototype designs and evaluation, research protocol development, performing research studies, and analyzing/interpreting data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support in product development process and research

Design prototypes and test new product ideas

Facilitate engineering change orders

Update CAD models and engineering drawings

Develop research protocols and execute testing

Assist with maintenance projects and performance evaluation of product

This is an in-office position located in Naples, FL; it is not a remote position.

Education and Experience:
Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Bioengineering. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

Prior work in a laboratory setting including cell culture and aseptic technique preferred.

General understanding of engineering design process preferred.

Basic knowledge of anatomy/ physiology a plus.

Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
Experience with CAD software (Solidworks, Creo, or AutoCAD)

Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
