Job Location:

  • The office for this position is located at the Harry S Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, MO. 65101.
  • Candidates who complete a successful onboarding and training period may be eligible to work at an alternate location in compliance with OA-ITSD's Distributed Workforce Plan.

About this position:

In the role of a Web Developer, one will provide daily support to agency users through updates to content, training staff, participating in projects, troubleshooting site issues as well as checks and remediation to enforce accessibility standards. Works in a fast-paced environment and is responsible for updating both static and content management style sites. Works closely with agency staff to ensure the citizens of the state have access to online services on both agency and enterprise levels.


This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes page changes, uploads documents, and creates new web pages (as well as deleting them) for agency staff.
  • Understands basic HTML, CSS, and Server Side Includes.
  • Make updates to the sites we have in content management (Drupal and Word Press).
  • Aware and mindful of the website security requirements.
  • Can identify and remediate 508 compliance issues.
  • Can identify design and functionality issues within the websites they maintain and can work with the more advanced programmers to get these items resolved.
  • Capable of installing, configuring, and using the necessary software to maintain their web pages and connections to web servers.
  • Work with other staff members on projects as assigned and directed.
  • Troubleshoot through website design and functionality issues with project management staff and business customers.
  • Work independently with good judgment and excellent communication skills.
  • Train business end users to manage their content in our content management software systems (Drupal and Word Press).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Possess a customer-focused approach.
  • Knowledge of the core programming language used in the assigned area.
  • Knowledge of computer logic statements and their applications.
  • Ability to learn and apply concepts.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics.
  • Ability to provide logical and innovative ideas, and think critically to resolve issues.
  • Ability to communicate with staff, management, and agency personnel.
