Work you'll do
As the UI/UX Designer, you will drive the strategy and creation of both the functional and interactive features of our applications by leveraging design software, modern frameworks, and UI/UX best practices. The candidate will develop solutions that address client challenges such as high cognitive workload, complex data analysis and visualization, autonomous control and real-time data processing to reach mission-critical objectives.
Working with a team of data scientists, augmented reality virtual reality (AR/VR) engineers, software engineers, and other technical subject matter experts, our development team is targeting for a wide range of UAV platforms ranging from enterprise to government. We provide advanced autonomous, real-time, AI-based solutions, and continuously strive to find the most innovative ways to deliver sophisticated intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) applications. The GPS AI & Data Engineering (AI&DE) offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.

The UI/UX Designer will:
- Develop and contribute to cloud and web applications using design and prototyping tools such as Wireframe.cc, Unity, Sketch, Figma, InVision, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Accurately translate project and business needs into user flow concepts and storyboards using UI/UX and AR/VR best practices
- Define user interactions, information architecture, and visual language and introduce improved design patterns and systems
- Lead in user requirements gathering, UX refinement, and UI mockups and prototypes to ensure application quality and end-user outcomes
- Collaborate with technical teams to understand the capabilities of each project's machine learning models and front-end development to best guide front end feature planning and development
- Research and advise on emerging technologies relevant to client requests, features, and potential solutions
- Present and demonstrate your work and applications to clients and colleagues in workshops and solution demos

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors Degree required
- 5+ years of experience as a UX/UI designer conceptualizing and designing web interfaces
- 5+ years of experience with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, InVision, etc.) and technologies (e.g., iOS, Android, Web, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience with software engineering skills beyond designing, including familiarity with UX research techniques, like conducting usability studies, user interviews, A/B tests, etc.
- Active Secret Level Security Clearance or higher
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
Preferred:
- Experience with Omniverse development
- Master's or Ph.D. preferred in a STEM field, high proficiency in Artificial Intelligence and related engineering technologies
- Experience coaching or mentoring junior staff
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills as well as a strong ability to communicate complex design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
